Caricato Bistrô
Caricato Bistro came to us with a vision: serve inventive, seasonal cuisine with Chilean-Brazilian roots — and wrap it in a brand experience as unexpected as the menu. Located in the heart of Santiago’s political district, we leaned into the setting and crafted an identity inspired by vintage editorial cartoons, political satire, and cultural commentary — all with a playful, rebellious twist. From naming to napkin design, we brought Caricato to life as a place where flavor meets personality — and no detail is without its punchline.

Building the Brand
Illustration as Storytelling
Condorita Design crafted custom illustrations that blend Chilean and Brazilian political satire into Caricato’s identity — turning cultural commentary into a bold visual experience that invites conversation beyond the plate.
The Aesthetics of Satire
Caricato Bistro didn’t just need a brand — it needed a voice. Condorita Design built the identity from the ground up, starting with strategy and naming, and evolving into a fully realized visual system. Every touchpoint was designed to carry meaning — from the logo and typography to menus, signage, packaging, and custom illustrations. The result is a brand experience rich in wit, personality, and political edge — where satire isn’t just a style, it’s the story.
Located in Santiago’s political center, Caricato Bistro needed a brand that spoke to a sharp, professional crowd. Inspired by the cultural ties between Chile and Brazil — and their shared political history — we proposed a playful, satirical concept rooted in editorial cartooning.
The name Caricato (meaning caricature in both Spanish and Portuguese) set the tone: bold, clever, and culturally charged. The identity draws from vintage political cartoons to create a brand that feels as provocative as it is polished.
Building a Cross-cultural brand
Caricato Bistrô
Bringing Chilean and Brazilian political satire to life through a fun and cultural-driven brand experience.
Overview
Caricato is a contemporary bistro in Santiago, Chile, serving daily, seasonal menus influenced by Chilean, Brazilian, and global cuisine. With no existing brand, name, or visual direction, the founders came to Condorita Design to bring their vision to life — from the ground up.
Our Role
We led the full brand creation process: naming, identity design, and visual language development across digital and print. The brand needed to speak to a sophisticated clientele — primarily professionals, executives, and government workers — while staying fresh, culturally grounded, and creatively bold.
Creative Direction
Located in a busy, high-profile area of Santiago, the bistro’s audience inspired a concept rooted in satire and politics — interpreted with a playful, clever edge. We leaned into the shared political histories of Brazil and Chile to shape a brand voice that felt smart, unexpected, and culturally relevant.
Naming & Identity
The name Caricato — meaning "caricature" in both Spanish and Portuguese — became the perfect anchor. The identity draws from vintage political cartoons, turning bold opinions and exaggerated forms into a distinctive visual language. This satirical approach offered a refined but humorous personality, balancing elegance with edge.
Typography, illustrations, and layouts echoed the feeling of old editorial newspapers, bringing texture and wit to everything from menus to digital touchpoints.
Result
The final brand is bold, memorable, and true to its cultural roots — a playful rebellion against traditional fine dining aesthetics. Caricato now stands out in Santiago’s competitive restaurant scene with a voice that’s unmistakably its own.
